    This film is a childhood favourite of mine, the mere thought of George Lucas (who I then thought must be a God for coming up with something like Star Wars!) being attached to this film was enough for me to consider it a masterpiece! It has always had an unfair reputation as being one of the worst films ever made, which it probably was at the time (but such things don't bother you when you're a kid!) however I think it has stood up pretty well over time especially against some of the crud that is produced nowadays, and it's probably garnered something of a cult following too! It's one of those films that the jury will be out on forever I suppose, for me though there are a lot of 'for's' - eye-popping non-CGI special effects from Industrial Light & ...
