Nice to have it in DVD
This film is a childhood favourite of mine, the mere thought of George Lucas (who I then thought must be a God for coming up with something like Star Wars!) being attached to this film was enough for me to consider it a masterpiece! It has always had an unfair reputation as being one of the worst films ever made, which it probably was at the time (but such things don't bother you when you're a kid!) however I think it has stood up pretty well over time especially against some of the crud that is produced nowadays, and it's probably garnered something of a cult following too! It's one of those films that the jury will be out on forever I suppose, for me though there are a lot of 'for's' - eye-popping non-CGI special effects from Industrial Light & ... So there you are, make up your own mind, you either love it or hate it, but like the other reviewer said this knocks the socks off any of the new Star Wars films!
